46th National Tree Planting Day
Hongsa Power Joins Hands to Build a Greener Future in Celebration of International Children’s Day, World Environment Day and the 46th National Arbor Day
Hongsa Power Company Limited participated in and supported activities held in celebration of International Children’s Day, World Environment Day, and the 46th National Arbor Day, observed annually on 1 June. The activities were organized in collaboration with government agencies, private sector organizations, and local communities in Hongsa, Ngeun, and Xienghone Districts, reflecting the Company’s commitment to community development alongside the sustainable conservation of natural resources and the environment.
For the 2026 celebrations, Ngeun District organized its activities on 1 June 2026, while Hongsa and Xienghone Districts held their events on 2 June 2026. Hongsa Power provided financial support totaling LAK 21 million to all three districts—Ngeun, Hongsa, and Xienghone—to support activities that promote youth learning, environmental awareness, and community participation in natural resource conservation.
In addition to financial contributions, Hongsa Power donated 2,000 tree seedlings comprising five species—Mahogany, Yang Bong, Golden Shower Tree, Queen’s Flower, and Makha Mong—with 400 seedlings of each species provided for tree-planting activities in Hongsa District. These efforts aim to expand green spaces, restore ecosystems, and enhance biodiversity as part of the Company’s long-term commitment to maintaining environmental balance within local communities.
Over the years, Hongsa Power has continuously implemented forest restoration and reforestation initiatives in collaboration with government agencies and local communities. These efforts cover areas in Hongsa, Ngeun, Xienghone, and Luang Prabang Province, with a total restored area exceeding 630 hectares. The program focuses on watershed forest rehabilitation, biodiversity conservation, and the expansion of green spaces to help maintain ecological balance and address the long-term challenges posed by climate change.
This initiative represents another demonstration of Hongsa Power’s commitment to conducting business responsibly while caring for society, communities, and the environment under its “Powering with CARE” philosophy. The Company strives to create shared value for all stakeholders through environmental conservation and restoration, environmental education for young people, and active community participation in the sustainable stewardship of natural resources.
Hongsa Power firmly believes that energy security must go hand in hand with environmental stewardship and community development. The Company remains committed to delivering reliable and secure energy while improving quality of life, protecting natural resources, and contributing to a better future for generations to come.
