Hongsa Power Strengthens Community Safety through the 500 kV High-Voltage Transmission Line Protection Fund

Hongsa Power Company Limited, through its Community Relations Department under the Social Development Division, Corporate Affairs, recently organized the first 2026 500 kV High-Voltage Transmission Line Protection Fund Handover Ceremony for the May–June funding period. The fund was presented to Hongsa, Ngeun, and Xienghone Districts, with a total value exceeding LAK 200 million, covering transmission line corridors spanning approximately 67 kilometers.

The fund has been established to enhance the safety and security of the 500 kV high-voltage transmission system, a vital component of the country's energy infrastructure. It supports local authorities and communities in maintaining safe transmission line corridors through wildfire prevention, vegetation and cleanliness management, and the maintenance of firebreaks along the transmission route. Hongsa Power provides this fund twice a year, in May and November, as part of its ongoing commitment to transmission line protection.

Beyond supporting operational safety, the initiative also strengthens collaboration between the Company, local authorities, and surrounding communities by raising awareness of the importance of protecting the transmission network, which plays a critical role in supporting economic development and improving the quality of life for local people.
