Hongsa Power Plants the Future, Advancing Sustainability through HPC Planting Day 2026

On 4 July 2026, Hongsa Power Company Limited organized HPC Planting Day 2026 under the theme "The Hongsa Power Family Plants the Future for a Sustainable Tomorrow." The event was presided over by Mr. Kathayuth Chupoon, Managing Director, and attended by the company's executives, employees, and contractor personnel. Together, they planted 1,000 trees to expand green spaces, restore ecosystems, and reaffirm the company's commitment to conducting its business responsibly while protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.

On this occasion, Mr. Kathayuth Chupoon highlighted the company's unwavering commitment to balancing energy production with environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Throughout its operations, Hongsa Power has not only been dedicated to generating reliable electricity that strengthens energy security for both the Lao PDR and Thailand, but has also remained committed to its vision of becoming the best power producer in the Lao PDR through operational excellence while creating value and well-being for all stakeholders.

As part of its environmental responsibility, the company has continuously carried out land rehabilitation and reforestation initiatives since 2012. Over the past 14 years, and in celebration of the 10th anniversary of its Commercial Operation Date (COD), Hongsa Power has successfully rehabilitated more than 360 hectares of land, planted over 900,000 trees, and contributed to the absorption of more than 45,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂). These achievements reflect the company's success in strengthening energy security while protecting the environment and supporting sustainable development.

In 2026, Hongsa Power will continue expanding its environmental restoration efforts by rehabilitating an additional 53 hectares within its concession area. The company will also implement an off-site reforestation program covering another 50 hectares across Hongsa, Ngeun, and Xienghone Districts in Xayaboury Province, as well as Chomphet District in Luang Prabang Province, further increasing green spaces and enhancing ecosystem resilience for the long term.

HPC Planting Day 2026 represents another significant milestone that demonstrates the collective commitment of the company's management, employees, and contractor partners to creating lasting environmental benefits for communities and future generations. The activity also reinforces Hongsa Power's "Powering with CARE" philosophy, reflecting the belief that true energy is not only about delivering reliable power, but also about creating lasting value for people, communities, society, and the environment while advancing sustainable growth.
